WORKSHOPS 

In 2025, workshops will again be held by international artists. Workshops will take place in rooms or at the exhibition stands of the respective artists. Look forward to courses that last just under 4 hours. All materials are included in the courses and you can take your work with you.

WORKSHOPS, SATURDAY 22.03.2025

Sugar Miniature Rose & Sugar Olive Mini Branch - Wedding Pocket Buttonhole Sleeve - Robert Haynes

Learn how to make this beautiful miniature cream rose made entirely from sugar with Robert Haynes.


Robert will show you how to master the perfect classic spiralled rose, plus how to vein and give natural movement to the individual sugar petals. Students will be colouring the outer guard petals and attaching a sugar calyx and rose hip. Each student will then display their finished miniature rose with a mini olive branch and faux bear grass. And finally present their sugar rose corsage in a modern wedding pocket buttonhole - sleeve.


Robert will “demonstrate only” how to make fully wired olive leaf and sugar olive. Students will be provided with pre-made wired olive & leaves to assemble into a mini branch to display with their finished rose corsage.


Students will be sent by email a 7-page written PDF document outlining the setting glazing and steaming process, after the masterclass.

  • In this workshop you will deal with the following topics:

    • How to mix colours in flower paste.
    • How to achieve the best results with botanically correct silicone veins.
    • How to securely attach a lightweight flower centre to a wire.
    • You will learn different techniques to create both a classic and a commercial rose petal spiral.
    • How to give your sugar rose petals a natural movement
    • How to make and attach a sugar goblet and rose hip.
    • How to use floristry tape and combine sugar and artificial foliage in a modern way.

    Course participants will share Robert's botanically correct silicone petal veins and the accompanying handmade metal cutters, which can be purchased after the course.

Sugar Hydrangea & Leaf - Wedding Pocket Buttonhole Sleeve - Robert Haynes

Learn how to make this beautiful lavender blue Hydrangea made entirely from sugar with Robert Haynes.


Robert will show you how to master wiring sugar petals in a commercial quicker way, plus how to vein and give natural movement to the individual sugar petals. Students will then highlight with edible colouring, create the flower centres then attach to for form florets, taped together with floristry tape. Each student will then display their finished sugar hydrangea together with a sugar hydrangea leaf and faux bear grass. And finally present their wired hydrangea stem corsage in a modern wedding pocket buttonhole - sleeve.


Robert will “demonstrate only” how to make a fully wired hydrangea leaf. Students will be provided with a finished coloured glazed and wired sugar hydrangea leaf to display with their finished hydrangea corsage.


Students will be sent by email a 7-page written PDF document outlining the setting glazing and steaming process, after the masterclass.
