  • Category A: Wedding cake, theme: modern meets simple elegance

Be inspired by fashion designers, architects and artists. Play with structures, shapes and colours. The modern does not exclude the old, but combines and rearranges it. Create something unique.

At least three floors are required. The individual tiers must be stacked in a clearly visible manner and covered with an edible material. The tiers must be classically round, square or rectangular. Remember to treat each tier like a real cake, i.e. the cake board (3 mm thick) must not be missing from any tier. Inner supports are permitted for the decorations (see paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules). For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens, cones/spheres and florists' ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here.

Base area: max. 60 x 60 cm. Dummies are permitted.

  • Category B: One-tier motif cake, theme: Far East

There is so much to discover in the Far East, where the sun rises. From tropical flowers, plants and animals, brave warriors and women in fantastic garments to exotic food, countless temples and breathtaking scenery. Be inspired by this variety.

The motif cake must be covered with edible material. Inner supports are permitted for the decorations (see paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules). For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and florist's ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here.

Base area: max. 30 x 30 cm. Dummy allowed.

  • Category C: Multi-tier motif cake, theme: Antique circus

Think of a circus that travelled the country more than a hundred years ago. With a circus ring full of animals that we take for granted today, but which were viewed with amazement back then. Don't forget the tightrope walkers, clowns, jugglers and curiosities as well as the old hurdy-gurdy. The circus used to be an attraction. Take the viewers of the cake back to that time.

At least two tiers are required, which must be visibly stacked and covered with an edible material. Internal supports are permitted for your decorations (see paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules). For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and the florist's ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here.

Base area: max. 40 x 40 cm. Dummies are permitted.

  • Category D: Small decorative element, theme: freely selectable

Make a figure, sculpture, building or object out of edible materials (modelling paste, modelling chocolate, isomalt, royal icing, wafer paper, etc.). Internal supports are permitted for your decorations (see paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules). For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and florist's ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here! Please note that everything visible must be edible.

Basic dimensions: max. 25 x 25 cm. Height: max. 25 cm. Dummies are permitted.

  • Category E: Miniature cake, theme: freely selectable

Create a miniature cake with at least three tiers. All tiers must be visibly stacked and covered with an edible material. Internal supports are permitted for the decorations (see paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules). For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and the florist's ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here.

Base area: max. 12 x 12 cm. Height: max. 15 cm. Dummies are permitted.

  • Category F: Painted cake, theme: Indigenous peoples

Indigenous peoples still exist in America, Africa, Asia, Australia and Oceania, as well as in Europe. They cherish their traditions, such as clothing, festivals, rituals, way of life, language and much more.

The cake must have at least two visibly stacked tiers. Any edible medium can be used. Your chosen motif must be painted directly onto the cake by hand or with an airbrush. Alternatively, you can paint on a fondant topper that is attached to the cake. However, be aware that painting directly on the cake will look better. The use of stencils is generally permitted, but the stencil design must not dominate your hand-painted main design. No photo prints may be used. All exterior decorations must be completely edible and may not contain any interior supports. For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and florist's ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here.

Base area: max. 40 x 40 cm. Dummies are permitted.

  • Category G: Carved 3D cake, theme: Sea creatures

The inhabitants of the seas and oceans are just as diverse as those on land. There are true giants and tiny creatures. Some are dangerous or even poisonous. Some live on and in the water, but also on land. Some are tropically colourful - others are monochrome or even transparent. Take the viewers of your cake into a fascinating and mysterious world.

The requirement is a carved cake made from a real cake, which must be completely covered with an edible material. Inner supports are permitted for the decorations (see paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules). For sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and the florist's ribbon are permitted. Paragraph E, point 9 of the competition rules also applies here! Please document the structure with photos. Please also read the information in paragraph A, point 15 of the general rules. If the photo documentation is missing, this will result in disqualification. The photos must document the following:

    - Photo 1: Support scaffold without cake.

    - Photo 2 - 4: Fitting the cake into the supporting framework in three phases.

    - Photo 5: Your inspiration.

Base area: max. 50 x 50 cm. Dummies are not allowed.

The relief does not need to have a frame, but must be covered on the outside with an edible material. Make sure that the back is clean. A variety of techniques can be used and combined, such as bas relief, quilling, mosaic, painting on fondant, royal icing, 2D modelling, etc. The relief may have a maximum height of 3 cm (relief height). Internal supports and the use of moulds are not permitted. In the case of sugar floristry and wafer paper flowers, paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres and florist's ribbon are permitted. Paper-covered floral wire, artificial stamens and cones/spheres as well as florists' ribbon and natural fibres such as coconut or hemp fibres are permitted. All plants shown must be labelled with their botanical name on the description card next to the showpiece. Any container made of non-edible material is permitted for presentation.
